Listen in class -- hear the material.
While following in the textbook, place check marks in the margins next to the concepts covered in class.

Get the notes (first outline) -- See the material x1.
Highlight that day's notes that night.
Frame your notes with color.
When highlighting notes, use different color markers (in the margins) to differentiate the start of new topics, headings or concepts. Color coding breaks up the notes, making it easier to visualize and remember them.
Highlight all key words - names, dates and formulas - in non-florescent yellow or pink.
Used Highlighted textbook (second outline) -- See the material x2.
Match each concept in your class notes to its corresponding textbook page. Write the page number next to the concept. Pay special attention to the highlighted material on those pages and read any non-highlighted passages for clarification.
Study all related illustrations, diagrams, charts and graphs. Try to envision the new information as a mental picture. It will help with concept recall and application.

Divide it into sections/categories. Cut it up with scissors.
