What you need to understand is this: Colleges can have all the learning
support and L.D. programs and special technology in the world, but what it finally
comes down to is whether you are willing to be proactive as a student. Don't
approach your education passively; get in there and shape it to be whatever is best
for you. You can't control everything, but you can try.
So my academic journey needs an ending. Well, at age 35, I graduated from
La Roche College. I finished with a OPA of 3.91 (an "A"
in
English) and
received my BA. Now, after fifteen years in the medical field, I'm shifting my
focus to helping other L.D. students realize their potential. Any school can be
L.D.-friendly, but it's up to you to make it that way.
SELF-EMPOWERMENT THROUGH RESPONSIBILITY.
IT'S ALL UP TO YOU.
"Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep
moving. They make mistakes, but they don't quit. "
- Conrad Hilton
"Ultimately you end up where you see yourself."
- Coach Joe Moore
